Home Team BBQ Plans Small Expansion at West Ashley Location

January 28, 2016

Share Post

Home Team BBQ announced plans today for a small expansion at the West Ashley location, 1205 Ashley River Road, sometime in spring 2016. The expansion will take over the adjoining space that was formerly a hair salon. The plans include opening up the connecting wall with a 12 ft. opening to create an additional room to house the official stage area for live entertainment, more seating, and televisions for sporting events. The new room will add an additional 30 seats and a place for a dedicated private dining space. The current dining area will be redesigned to eliminate the stage and add more community and high top tables, similar to what is used at the Sullivan’s Island location. Home Team BBQ will also expand the front and back patios to increase seating in both spaces.

“We have always wanted to have the entire building for our West Ashley location and we are excited to see this opportunity finally come available to us,” said pitmaster and owner Aaron Siegel. “We will now have a dedicated stage and a place for private parties, something we get requests for daily.”

Construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks and should be completed by spring.

Home Team BBQ (1205 Ashley River Road) will host the annual Bar-B-Qued Bluegrass Series throughout the month of July. During these free concerts, national, regional and local popular bluegrass bands will play their popular songs starting at 9:00PM. The schedule is as follows:

  • July 14: Green Gallows from Brooklyn, NY: A blue-collar, American-made, whiskey-loving, foot-stompin’, crowd-pleasin’ band out ‘da backlands of Queens, NY. Formed in July of 2013, The Gallows have built a cult following in their adopted home of Astoria, Queens. Having built a reputation for delivering powerful, whiskey-drenched performances, The Gallows’ vision is clear: To bring their high-energy, acoustic sound to the world.
  • July 21: Frazier Band from Nashville, TN: While not the traditional bluegrass outfit, these guys are solidifying their inventive mix of rock and Newgrass via the infectious hook driven pop tunes from the critically acclaimed 2012 self-titled debut. After sharing a glimpse of their explosive, evolving live sound on their 2014 release Live at The Five Spot, Frazier Band got back to work in their home base of Nashville, vibing with engineer Daniel Rice (Cadillac Sky) to create a follow-up studio album reflecting a solid ensemble sound that Frazier could have only dreamed of when he launched Frazier Band in 2010.
  • July 28: The Bluegrass Gadgets from Charleston, SC: The Bluegrass Gadgets is one of Charleston’s newest vocal bluegrass groups with a blend of Bluegrass, Country, Americana and some of the best blend of vocal harmonies around.
