Kayla McKinney w/ Meredith Foster

It has been said that Kayla McKinney is a powerful voice for women everywhere. Her vocals lend to the story of the everyday woman, who battles shattered hearts, broken spirits, and crushed dreams; yet still rises above it all.  Kayla shares Western North Carolina as her home with fellow Country Artists, CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs, Chase Rice, and Joe Lasher. Inspired by those who have blazed the trail before her, Kayla has her sights set on touching women everywhere with her music.

Hailing from St. Louis, Foster grew up with a blues musician father and rock-enthusiast mother. She began singing at the age of 6 and taught herself guitar when she was about 13.  Foster was studying at the University of Mississippi when she discovered a local coffee shop and a dive bar that revived her sense of what it means to be an artist. She was able to connect with older musicians who had experience writing music with soul, who felt the value of storytelling.  Her music conveys a fresh Americana sensibility melded with poetic narrative lyricism.
